2. 2024-25 Key Features
You must select a total of 22 drivers before Round 1 enters Full Lockout on Thursday, 30 January 2025 at the assigned starting time of the first race of that round. If you register after this point, you will be able to create a team, however you will not start scoring points until Round 2.
- The Fantasy Harness Racing competition will consist of 25 rounds across 25 weeks.
- Each round will contain up to 12 selected race meetings between Thursday and Saturday or Sunday of that week.
- In total, there will be 300 scheduled race meetings across 25 weeks.
- Drivers will be chosen by assigned states in line with Harness Racing Australia boundaries. For the purpose of Fantasy Harness Racing, these are defined as Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and WASAT (Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania).
- Fantasy Harness Racing players will have a starting salary cap of $25.6 million to select their full squad of 22 drivers.
- Each week, players will be given two trades to make changes to their squad.
- Drivers will earn points based on finishing first, second, third or fourth in the races at the selected race meetings within that round.
- Drivers who participate in a race but do not finish in the first four places will receive one point.
- Players will select a Captain and Vice-Captain for each round. The Captain’s total score for that round will be doubled. If the selected Captain does not drive in that round, the Vice-Captain’s score will be doubled instead.
- During the Fantasy Harness Racing season, a number of Group 1, Group 2 and selected feature races are included in the schedule. These will carry boosted points value:
- Group 1 – Triple points
- Group 2 and selected features – Double points
- Registered players will be able to register in private and/or public leagues to create group competition or head-to-head battles against other players.
- Head-to-Head Leagues will feature a draw of weekly match ups, culminating in two or three weeks of finals (depending on your league settings) that run over the last few rounds of the season, including a grand final in round 25. A leaderboard will be updated at the completion of each round.
League Set-Up
- You can decide whether to create a Head-to-Head or Open league.

- Variable driver pricing will be in play for season 2024/25, meaning that driver prices may increase or decrease after each round, based on their recent scores.
- A driver who scores well will likely increase in price, whereas a driver who scores poorly will likely decrease in price.

5. Selecting Your Team
Team Selection
- You must select a total of 22 drivers before the Full Lockout (prior to the first race starting on Thursday, 30 January 2025) of Round 1. If you register after this, you must complete your team before the next round (Round 2) enters Full Lockout.
- You must select exactly five drivers from Queensland, five drivers from New South Wales, five drivers from Victoria and seven drivers from WASAT (made up of two from Western Australia, two from South Australia, two from Tasmania and one reserve from any of those three states).
- You will need to select your Team within the initial $25.6 million Salary Cap that you are provided with.
Team Editing & Trades
- In order for your Team to perform at its best, edit your starting line-up of 18 drivers prior to the start of each Round. This can be done through making both Trades and Substitutions.
- Up until the Full Lockout of Round 1 you can make as many changes to your team as you like, but after Round 1 you are limited to two trades per week.
- Select 4 Emergencies each week so that if one of your starting drivers are not driving, your Emergency driver’s score will be used as a replacement. An Emergency has to be listed in the same region as your missing driver for their score to count.
- Each week, you need to select a Captain and Vice-Captain for your team. Your Captain should be the driver you're expecting to earn the highest score each round as they will earn double points. If your Captain doesn't play, your Vice-Captain's Score will be doubled instead.
Your Team
- Before the Round begins you can edit your Team as many times as you like.
- Each Round you must select a starting line-up of 18 drivers (4 from Queensland, 4 from New South Wales, 4 from Victoria and 6 from WASAT). You can name up to 4 Emergencies per Round and these drivers will be used as replacements for any of your starting line-up that do not drive during that round.
Trades
- There is no limit to the amount of Trades you can make prior to the commencement of the Fantasy Harness Racing season and up until the Full Lockout of Round 1. After the completion of Round 1, you are allocated a maximum of two trades per round. The Trades DO NOT accumulate, thus if you don't use two trades one round you are still limited to only two trades the following round. You may or may not use your two trades each round; that is up to you!
- If you are unhappy with a Trade, you can reverse the Trade up until lockout at the commencement of the round
- Trading periods last from the end of the previous Round's Lockout until the full lockout of the next Round.
- When you trade a driver, the difference between their driver price and the driver price of the traded-in driver will be added/subtracted from your Team Value.
- You cannot trade if the trade will cause you to exceed your Salary Cap. This means you can only trade in drivers whose price is less than the price of the driver you are trading out, plus any unused Salary Cap.
Captain & Vice-Captain
- Make sure to choose a Captain who you think will be the highest scoring driver in your Team for the round, because your Captain scores double points.
- If your selected Captain doesn't drive at all during that round, then your Vice-Captain's score will be doubled instead.
- You can change your Captain & Vice-Captain right up until the round Lockout.
- Only drivers from your starting 18 line-up can be selected as the Captain and Vice-Captain.
- Only one driver can be assigned the role of Captain and Vice-Captain.
Bonus Points
- Selected races across the Fantasy Harness Racing season will be allocated boosted points. A number of Group 1, Group 2 and selected feature races are included in the schedule. These will carry boosted points value:
- Group 1 and selected features – Triple points
- Group 2 and selected features – Double points
- The schedule of applicable races is specified in the Schedule of Races at Section 3.
Emergencies
- Each week you must select up to 4 Emergencies – one per region. If, for whatever reason, one of your starting drivers does not drive during that round, an Emergency that is selected in the same region as your original starting driver will replace their score. Your Emergency drivers can only replace a maximum of four drivers who don't drive for that Round.
- All Emergencies must come from your Interchange Bench – it is not possible to have one of the existing drivers in your starting 18 as an Emergency.
Swapping Drivers
- You can move your emergency drivers into your starting team!
- By clicking on the driver’s name and opening their driver profile, you will find a green arrow, by clicking this you can move the driver to any spot within their region.
- This ultimately allows for your emergency driver to be added into your starting team.
Rounds and Lockout
- A round will contain up to 12 race meetings, as specified in the schedule of events.
- The round will be locked out at the start of the first race meeting on that round’s schedule.
- Lockout will be lifted once points have been finalised following the last race of the last race meeting of that round’s schedule.
League Competitions
- Leagues can either be private for you and your mates or open to the public.
- There are NO LIMITS to how many Leagues you can join or create!
- Head-to-Head Leagues will feature a draw of weekly of match ups, culminating in two or three weeks of finals (depending on your league settings) that run over the last few rounds of the season, including a grand final in round 25.
Head-To-Head Leagues
- Each League can be either private or open to the public, so search for one that has League Settings that suit your preferred structure.
- After the Full Lockout of the first Round of your league, you can view other people's teams in your League by viewing the league Match-ups. You will not be able to view any changes that have been made to that Team for the current round until after Full Lockout has started. Once Lockout has commenced you are able to view the latest Team, Captain and Emergency selections your opponent has made for the current round.
- Once a League is full you will receive a randomly generated League fixture before the beginning of the Leagues Start Round.
- If your Team wins your head-to-head match you receive 3 points, a draw is worth 1 point and a loss is zero. If multiple Teams are tied on points, then the ladder will be ranked based on total overall accumulated points as a default.
- League matches start in the round selected by the League Commissioner - the default Start Round is the next round to start unless there are an even amount of teams
- After the completion of the League's regular season, the top 4 or 8 Teams in the League will be entered in a final’s competition.
Finalising League Entry & Incomplete Leagues
- Prior to the Start Round for your League, Teams are entered into Leagues on a provisional basis. Leagues' entries can change up until the beginning of the Start Round.
- If your League has not been filled by the start of the Round, your League Commissioner will be emailed and given options on how to resolve the empty positions in their league.
- If you are in an Open league, you can join or leave at any time.
Public Leagues
- Once you join a Public League you will have the ability to see the League code and thus invite others to join the League.
- These leagues are accessible to all users until the league is full (for Head-to-Head leagues).
Private Leagues
- If you are the creator of a Private League (the League Commissioner), you have the exclusive rights to invite people to join the League and define the Settings for your League.
- As League Commissioner, prior to the starting Round for your league, you have the ability to remove Teams from your League.
- When inviting other players to join the League they will be contacted with details on how to join the League.
Point Scoring
- Your starting 18 drivers will score points that contribute to your team total. If one of these drivers does not drive at all in that round, then your Emergency driver in a matching region can score points for your team as a replacement.
- If a driver competes in a race but does not finish in the first four, they will automatically register a point.
- You receive double Points from your Captain (or Vice-Captain if your Captain doesn't drive in that round).
- Your Emergency driver’s points do not count to your team's total unless they are replacing a non-scoring driver.
- Points are allocated based on the official final results as published on http://www.harness.org.au
- If an event/race is cancelled or postponed the driver involved will not receive any points and will not score any points for the events eventual rescheduled day
Live and Final Scores
- During a live round, you will be able to see the running total of your team's score.
- Live score updates are purely to enhance your enjoyment of the game and points should be regarded as indicative only. All in-play points are subject to verification and will not be considered final until the game week is complete, and based on decision derived from Match Report.
- We will endeavour to have the final results and lockout lifted by 6.00am AEDT the day after the completion of the final race meeting of the round.
- Once the scores are finalised, the lockout for that round ends, the competition is reopened and you can start editing your team again with two new trades for that week.
